Life Changing Week of Camp
For 35 years, the gates of KAA have welcomed thousands of urban youth and their leaders. People often ask me what makes a week at camp so life-changing. My answer is always the same: transformation happens when a child feels seen, known, and loved.
A week at KAA is more than sports and “hype” energy. It is a deliberate mission to encourage, equip, and empower the next generation of Christian leaders. We use the lake and the courts as a platform, but the real work happens in the quiet moments of mentorship.
I’ve seen campers arrive carrying heavy burdens of trauma and doubt, only to leave as “Overcomers” who recognize that their strength comes from Jesus and the community KAA provides.
When a camper leaves camp, they don’t just take back memories; they take back a new vision for their life and community. One week at camp builds a foundation of resilience and faith that lasts a lifetime. Please read through this booklet that highlights a week of camp through a camper’s perspective.
Thank you for standing with us as we build leaders and transform lives with the love of Christ!
