How much does it cost to attend KAA for one week?

Tuition for Kaleos& Campers in KAA 1,2, 3 and HG 1 are all $225 per person.
HG 2 is $400 and
HG Equip is $225.
Deposit costs are $25 per person for all camps. All deposits are a portion of the overall tuition cost.

How old does my child have to be to attend camp?

KAA 1 – Ages 9-12
KAA 2 – Ages 13-14
KAA 3 – Ages 15-18
Higher Ground – Ages 14-18
Kaleos – 20 and up
Deposit costs are $25 per person for all camps except HG3 which is $100 per person. All deposits are a portion of the overall tuition cost.

What is a Kaleo?

Kaleo (the Greek word for “called ones”) is the term used to describe the adult urban youth leaders who bring campers to KAA. Kaleos are scheduled at a 1 to 10 ratio to combined Camper total(s) per camp. Kaleos are ages 20 and up.

Can I volunteer at KAA?

We have many volunteer opportunities available for you to help with. You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer. We are looking for groups to work in the dining hall or in grounds keeping for a week at a time.

Are there eligibility restrictions to attending camp?

Individuals with the following cannot attend KAA:
· Pregnancy
· Sickle Cell
· Vision/Hearing impaired
· Uses Wheelchair/Paralysis
· Requires assistance to walk dress, eat, bathe, use toilet facilities, etc.
· Takes more than 2 psychotropic drugs (medication designed to alter the mind, emotions, and/or behavior)
· Unregulated Asthma or diagnosed within 12 months of camp start date
· Diabetes ages 10-12, Unregulated Diabetes or diagnosed within 6 months of camp start date
· Seizure activity within 6 months of camp start date
· Hemophilia/Communicable disease/Immune Deficiency
· Cognitive delays, Autism, Down Syndrome, Developmental Disability
· Responds defiantly to correction
· No hard casts
· Those unapproved by the Registration Team
*Participants must be in general good health and able to participate in the required walking and athletic activities typical of our camp.
*KAA does not restrict the attendance of those who are juvenile delinquents/wards of the state. However, individuals must respond positively to authority & participate in camp activities.
*Regulated diabetics MUST be cleared through the Health Services Director BEFORE attending.
*Inhalers are primarily kept by the Campers and the Counselors, or the Health Center as needed as a secondary measure.
Camp Barnabas specializes in camping for individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities and their families. Their offices may be reached at 417-476-2565 or www.campbarnabas.org.

What is KAA’s business entity?

Kids Across America (KAA) is a Missouri non-profit organization with its headquarters at 2036 Timberlake Road, Branson, Missouri, 65616. KAA is audited annually by an independent accounting firm. KAA is exempt from federal income tax under 26 U.S.C, Section 501(c)(3) and is a non-profit eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions.
